Spring Edition 10 Things I Love

I feel that the change in the seasons brings about a breath of fresh air - our slate is wiped clean and we are free to create new intentions, immerse ourselves into new projects and welcome new energy into our space.

And within this swirl of energy, I have found myself in a state of wondrous curiosity, captivated by various sources of inspiration on a daily basis. So here is the Spring Edition of 10 things that I am falling in love with in this moment.


1) Creating :: From Clay

On the weekend, I spent two full days in an intensive pottery course at the beautiful Slow Clay Centre in Collingwood, Melbourne. This particular studio focuses on teaching pottery using a traditional Japanese clay throwing technique whereby the ceramicist explores how the medium responds to touch - the aim is not to dominate or force the material to take a desired shape.

The experience of working with clay was immersive. I was blissfully absorbed for hours in a meditative state of flow, creating something tangible with my hands over the spinning wheel. 

2) Wearing :: The Most Comfortable Shoes

I think most of my spring and summer days will be spent wandering in these shoes. After working on decluttering my wardrobe using the Marie Kondo method, these shoes are one of the items that I have selected for my capsule wardrobe for the warmer months. They are not only comfortable and versatile, but they also surprisingly fun to wear in the cooler months when teamed with a pair of thick wool socks!

I have an endless passion for learning because I believe in chasing our curiosity. I am currently in my first week of The Beautiful You Life Coaching Course. I am loving this course so far in that it asks the hard questions, dives deep into topics around self development and finding your truth.

4) Writing :: In My Journal

Recently, I have been clearing out space in my day for reflecting and journalling. I love the freedom and flow of journalling - breathing into the moment and translating my feelings into words on paper. And since I am a bit obsessive compulsive about my diaries, I am already eagerly awaiting Danielle LaPorte's The Desire Map Planner for 2016 (Affiliate Link) which guides you through each day based on your core desired feelings.

5) Decorating :: With The Cutest Wallpaper

In a bid to welcome in the warmer weather, this very creative lady at Clementine Creative has some very juicy wallpapers for you to decorate your desktop or phone with. I particularly love watermelons so have chosen this one to use on all my devices. The pattern makes me think of spring afternoons spent on picnic blankets with books and iced tea!

6) Meditating :: With Gentle Focus 

This month, I am exploring the concept of gentle focus in my meditations. For me, this means making space for two key projects in my life (Japanese and Life Coaching training) and simplifying commitments. In the past, I have lived in extreme states of focus and discipline, in which I always finding myself feeling depleted of joy and spontaneity.

So I have invited gentleness in to balance it out, which allows for fluidity whilst keeping me grounded and actionable.

7) Reading :: Big Magic

I am devouring this book page by page. Elizabeth Gilbert has poured all her wisdom and soulful humour into this baby and it has me completely inspired and in awe about the magic of ideas, creation and genius. On the same subject, also check out Elizabeth Gilbert's podcast Magic Lessons which expands on this theme further.

Since moving from the inner city and back into the leafy suburbs of Melbourne, I have been on the hunt for a good yoga studio that is closer to home. I recently stumbled across Light Space Yoga which has two light filled studios in Melbourne and offers classes in Vinyasa, Yin, Slow Flow and Basics.

9) Nourishing :: At Smith & Deli

This vegan New York styled deli, hidden down the side streets of Fitzroy, Melbourne has the best sandwiches with the most creative menu names - hands down. Despite the crowds at Smith & Deli, the food is worth the wait!

I have been eyeing off these beautiful headphones for a few months now but they are very expensive! So, in the meantime, I am just going to dream about them and hope that by the law of attraction, they will manifest into my life somehow.
