PROJECT : LOGO DESIGN
THE CLIENT : STEPHANIE HINTON | THE REMEDY KITCHEN
Stephanie Hinton is a Sydney based naturopath with a passion for whole foods and natural, herbal medicine. We wanted her branding to evoke a sense of grounding back to mother earth with the healing wisdom of natural remedies. Stephanie wanted a logo that would work with her current website and branding that could bring out the feeling of being nurtured and comforted.
DESIGN ELEMENTS CREATED
THE MOOD BOARD
Words to describe the brand
- Ancient wisdom and rituals
- earthing, grounding
- Healing herbs and nature as a remedy
- Feeling like you have returned home, comfort, identity
Stephanie's experience OF the mood board process
"I loved working on the initial phase where Jo asked me to compile a collection of images, songs, feelings, words and colours that resonated with me and my brand. This was incredibly explorative for me and uncovered so many new layers to my self and my business that I hadn't realised. From this activity I now have a sense of direction and understanding of where I want my brand to grow to and also what values and emotions are deeply rooted in my brand already. What I also loved was that Jo responded with her own mood board based on conversations, meditations and my references."
We decided to draw the mortar and pestle by hand. It feels personable and warm, like you are being nourished and cared for. It also conveys the concept of creating a healing balm or poultice using nature by hand.
As part of the process, we explored a number of different colour options for The Remedy Kitchen. These warm hues give the logo a little bit of pop. We decided upon the burnt orange because it resembles clay and the earth.
